Being happy for someone is selfish and the best thing you can do for yourself

This idea may seem counterintuitive on many levels but here me out! When you are happy for someone else, YOU are the one feeling the emotion. Just like when you are angry or upset with someone, the chemicals firing off in your body are being processed ,dealt, and felt by you…not them.

Being happy for someone else gives you all the biological benefits as if you were experiencing the event yourself. We have all these practices to combat stress and lower cortisol, what if extending happiness outside of ourselves was part of it all?
